Which keeper are you?
You are Kadiatou, the Water-Keeper
You keep things: a well, a promise, the right way of doing them. You have drawn water from the same well every morning for sixty years, so fine words do not move you. Before you sign anything, you want to see it work, and you want to know whose hand will hold the key.
In Kadiatou’s words
“A well has no gate. Anyone with a rope may draw from it.”
Songs of Dust and Water, chapter 10, p. 92
